My name is Michael Chylinski, and I make tintypes -- beautiful, hand-crafted photos on metal done the same way they were during the Civil War. Ambrotypes, too, which are essentially the same, but on glass. It's a very beautiful way of making images that has experienced something of a revival in recent years--partly, I believe, as an antidote to the increasingly ephemeral nature of photographs in today's world. If you'd like one, please contact me. More images can be found on the “Galleries” page, and sizes and prices are listed on the “Sessions” page.
